Mystery Knit and Crochet a-longs

In need of some fun knitting for the summer? We have a very special surprise to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hill Country Yarn Crawl!

We will be doing both a Mystery Knit-A-Long, and Crochet-A-Long and are thrilled that Susanna IC and Shannon Sanchez have designed special patterns just for this Mystery. They have worked together to create patterns that complement each other. So whether you are a knitter or a crocheter you will have a wonderful shawl to commemorate this year’s crawl!

Each shawl will require two skeins of yarn – about 385 yards each (sock or fingering weight yarn). The color choices are up to you, but the skeins should either both be solid or tonal, or one solid and one hand-painted, with enough contrast so that the color changes are clear. The knitted pattern has two shapes to choose from, a crescent shawl or a rectangular stole, while the crochet version is a triangular shawl. There will be four weekly clues in all, the first clue will be released on August 20th and the final clue on Sept. 10th.

This will give you a few extra weeks to finish, block, and get ready to show your shawl off during the 10th annual Hill Country Yarn Crawl, which begins on Oct. 7th. The cost of each pattern will be only $1.00 until Sept. 3, 2016, then the cost will go up to full price.

To join in the fun, visit Susanna’s and Shannon’s designer pages on Ravelry starting July 15, 2016, and purchase your pattern. You can also join their Ravelry groups to chat about your yarn choices and your progress, and to share the photos of your project.
